Slack

Connect your organization with Fiveonefour in a shared Slack channel.

Join your organization's shared Slack channel with Fiveonefour from Integrations → Slack, org settings, the plan upgrade card, app error messages, the CLI, or MCP. Any org member can join using their verified primary account email. To install the AX bot in your own workspace instead, see Use AX in Slack.

Join from the app

  1. Open your organization's Integrations → Slack tab, or find the Slack card in Settings → Organization.
  2. Select Join Slack.
  3. If you are already a member, Slack opens in a new tab. Otherwise, accept the invitation sent to your email to open the channel.

The card shows your invitation status. If your browser blocks the new tab, use Open Slack. On later visits, Open Slack appears as a link alongside your recorded invitation status. Accept a sent invitation in your email before opening the channel. Each member joins with their own email, and later requests reuse the same channel. Channels are created only when someone selects Join Slack.

You can also select Join Slack on the plan upgrade card or Need help? Join Slack in an app error message. The signup email links to the same Slack tab after sign-in. If you have no active organization, select or create one first. Opening the email link does not send an invitation; select Join Slack on the page.

sent, connected: trueConnectedSlack reports that the shared channel is connected to your workspace. The card no longer asks you to accept the invitation. To leave, select Leave in Slack, click the channel name, then Leave channel. Workspace admins can remove your organization from the channel's Settings tab under Organizations.

Your status reports the latest invitation attempt for your verified primary email. While that invitation is sent, the status also reports whether Slack shows the shared channel connected to your workspace; it does not track approval. Verify your primary email before joining. For workspace policy or permission failures, contact your Slack workspace admin or Fiveonefour support.

Join requests share a per-user limit of three attempts, replenishing one attempt every minute, and a per-org limit of five requests per hour. Slack may impose additional limits.

Join from the CLI

Use ax org slack join to join with your own email:

ax org slack join
ax org slack status

Both commands accept --org <ORG_ID> to target another org without changing your active org, and --json for structured output. ax org slack status returns the channel link and your recorded invitation result, or reports that no channel is connected.

After ax auth login, an interactive terminal offers an optional Slack invitation, defaulting to No, at most once per credentials file. Non-interactive login and CLI errors that need support point to ax org slack join. You can join whenever you need help; no channel setup is required beforehand.

Join from MCP

Call join_slack_channel with {}. Use get_slack_channel with {} to read the saved channel and your invitation result. Both tools accept org_id for an explicit organization.

Unexpected service and internal MCP errors include a short help hint pointing to join_slack_channel. Validation, not-found, authentication, permission, and rate-limit errors omit it.

Join from REST

Send POST /api/v1/orgs/slack-channel with no email parameters. Use GET /api/v1/orgs/slack-channel to read status. Both routes accept the org_id query parameter and require your API key.

Unexpected service and internal REST errors include a help_hint field pointing to POST /api/v1/orgs/slack-channel. Ordinary caller errors omit it.
